In my opinion, I embrace feminity in fashion but mixing it with a tinge of masculinity does give an edgy look which is great.

Trend #6 White!

This beautiful ensemble is by Dolce & Gabanna. These angelic dresses embellished with crystals are fit for a princess.

With white being such a neutral colour, it can be worn in different ways. Reed Krakoff went for a more urban and sporty look as compared to D&G's.

Not just animal prints, we're talking fruity, floral, stripes, even monkey prints that are all vibrant in colours!

Stella McCartney adds in a citrusy fruit basket into her design. Very Summery indeed.

Versace added some woven fringes to this dress to compliment its "barely there" ensemble

Haider Ackerman goes for a bolder look with this trend even though nude is not even close to being a bold colour but he Haider Ackerman made it work in this drapey rather abstract dress.

So... what will be the constants of the wardrobes of fashionistas this spring/summer?
We're in  January and the fashion authorities are well ahead with what we should be wearing during our warm weather. This spring/summer 2011, we will have 7 rather contrasting yet lovely trends in front of us.

Each week I will update a post with each trend leading up to near Spring!

Trend #1 Loud, Bright, Fruity colours!

Ugg-ly?

I cannot see sense in why anyone would think Ugg boots are fashionable in any aspect. By all means, they are extremely comfortable and slipping into them makes it all that cosy, but to see them as something that would make a statement is like fashion global warming. Like how Crocs(really comfortable but weird looking slippers) were in trend a few years back.

I own a pair of Ugg boots but like these celebrities below, I only wear them casually with no intention of thinking its trendy.


I feel like its wearing your bedroom slippers and calling it a fashion statement, although I can actually see that happening, now that is what I call fashion global warming people. I know we will get out of this.

Like I said, Don't get me wrong, they are the most comfortable pair of boots I own but I will never conform and say that I am being fashionable by wearing them.

Robert Pattinson is on the same wavelength as me as he does not like girls who wear Ugg/Ugg inspired boots and wonders in what sense are they even fashionable.

Harem Trousers

Look what the fashion waves brought back to shore- Harem Trousers!I must admit I was never a fan before, especially the baggy ones that only makes you look more like a bag lady with the need to air her nether regions, I am however, very into the legit harem trousers.

I do love the kind that Sienna Miller is wearing in the picture above because it is just so easy to wear and you can wear with almost any top while making a statement. I personally wear it with a very dressy top when I go out clubbing or a normal tank when I'm out at the groceries or a graphic tee when I'm out and about elsewhere where the public eye is opened wider. It is comfortable and reasonable making it oh so trendy.

I also love how it makes me seem like Princess Jasmine, my fictional idol, but thats a different story ;p

Trend: Military

ATTENTION PRIVATE CORPORAL FASHIONISTAS!

Military trend is sadly becoming over rated and will be out in due time. I was just starting to go full on military with the lovely boots and jackets just because I could



but its only when people start to wear it incorrectly that it drifts out of trend.

So while its still hot, lets all embrace it!Saluuute!


Rihanna rocks a Balmain jacket

However, being a true Balmainholic, this is style is something I know I will maintain in my style one way or another because fashion experts would know all this military inspired apparel are all products of inspiration from the dark and edgy Balmain.

Leopard Pweeeeeeeeeents

I am the bearer of far too many leopard print apparel, any leopard print item I see gets purchased on impulse no matter how horrible it looks, hmm, I have no idea why it has such an effect on me but this trend is quite risky to try, if you get it wrong, you'll end up looking like a washed up disco star. This is probably why my shiny silver and pink leopard print bodycon latex dress is isolated in my wardrobe shunned from the outside world. If I wear it, it'll be like a police officer littering. I might just update this post with the picture to show you how much I am NOT exaggerating. I tried it on once and my boyfriend said it made me look like a ******well lets just not get into that.

Anyway, this animal print has been in the fashion spotlight for more than a year already. High street shops still have new arrivals that consists of leopard prints, look at the coats from the upcoming Autumn/Winter 2010 collections and leopard prints are a constant. I've got a nice faux fur leopard print coat from Next and I could definitely call it a statement coat as it perks up any basic outfit I have on. I also have leopard print gloves, a hat and a scarf! My upcoming winter wardrobe is full of prints!I can see myself being called the leopard print lady!

Everyone's embracing this style and pro animal lovers dislike this sort of animal print inspired trend, they assume it promotes animal cruelty and using animal fur. Well, us fashionistas feel different and such campaigners should see it this way. We wear animal prints and faux fur because we love the way they look and simply wear such apparel to mimic the STYLE AND LOOK of the animal, which is why people who agree with me don't buy the actual fur, they get the faux fur to show their appreciation for the way the animal looks! These animals are therefore the trend setters, so to speak!

Now for some last laughs, here's a spoof of Singapore's Miss World who embraces the safari inspired trend!Trust me, Its hilarious. I totally don't see how khaki goes with leopard print, not acceptable by the style police!
