Essentials: Benefit Benetint Lipbalm

Benefit Benetint Lip Balm SPF 15

A sidekick of Benefit's legendary Benetint, this beats any form of lipbalm hands down. It will last you for months! Not only does this moisturize your lips but it also gives it a bright rosy tint that does not fade. You read that right, no matter what you eat or drink, the colour stays stained on your lips for half a day. This is a life saving product for those who get cracked lips especially during the winter season. This product makes your lips oh so kissable, not to forget the rose scent it leaves on your lips! This handly little tub is all you need in your clutch for a nightout or a date.

Hairy Tales: Pixie Cut

British Fashion IconHermione GrangerEmma Watson does the Halle Berry with her epic hair transformation.

She went from this(well sort of)...

To this...

Do we love it?YES. She is able to own this look without looking like a boy and not many people can. A lot of people, especially from the media made a huge fuss about this, dissing her for this apparent drastic move but this pretty face would have obviously thought this through thoroughly before going for the chop but hey, it suits her. She still holds Britain's top 50 most beautiful females.

Hermione Granger rocks her new look and will keep it that way for awhile

Would you ever take the same risk as her?

Revival: Hareeeeeeemba

Harem Trousers

Look what the fashion waves brought back to shore- Harem Trousers!I must admit I was never a fan before, especially the baggy ones that only makes you look more like a bag lady with the need to air her nether regions, I am however, very into the legit harem trousers.

I do love the kind that Sienna Miller is wearing in the picture above because it is just so easy to wear and you can wear with almost any top while making a statement. I personally wear it with a very dressy top when I go out clubbing or a normal tank when I'm out at the groceries or a graphic tee when I'm out and about elsewhere where the public eye is opened wider. It is comfortable and reasonable making it oh so trendy.

I also love how it makes me seem like Princess Jasmine, my fictional idol, but thats a different story ;p

Heaven Scent Perfume: D&G Number 3 L'IMPERATRICE

D&G 3 L'IMPERATRICE

I have decided that this will be my signature lifelong scent. If I ever become a famous person, even if I was a famous hobo, I want to endorse this scent. I mean, look at Chanel No.5(wow this sounds like im discussing my next door apartment), its been around without any form of discontinuation for more than 90 years and this elixir holds that potential, in fact, I dare say, it beats Chanel No.5 hands down. Don't get me wrong, I love Chanel No.5 but there has just been too many similar versions of this perfume that its appeal to me is fading off. I only feature perfumes that I actually use in this blog and I tend to stick to one perfume for a long period of time because I get used to smelling that way. I am sure I am not the only who does this, especially when people have already been accustomed to this scent as part of me. Sometimes I get asked what I have on and I just never let this secret out because I am selfish and just don't want others to know how I smell so divine.

Obviously, you can't actually smell this beauty over this blog post but D&G No.3 is:
1)What goddesses like Aphrodite smells like.
2) A fruity combination scent of Apples, Peaches and Watermelon
3)Long lasting
4)Mellow
5)Does not give out a strong whiff of ethanol
6)Like no other

The other perfumes from this range smell good too but they also smell average and a similar version can be found easily from the next counter. L'Imperatrice(what a mouthful) which means Empress, stands out like, well, an empress!

Now you have to make a trip down to Debenhams or wherever you get your perfume from to test this out. I am known to exaggerate but this does not require any and if you're lucky enough to read this, you will probably stick to this perfume for life!

Culture: Japan's Harajuku Girls Part 1

KONICHIWA!ADIGATO SAN!

Harajuku is not a trend, not a style, not a fad. It is EXTREME fashion where Japanese teenagers, boys and girls alike, take fashion to the extreme. Some of them may seem like they're merely just wearing a halloween costume and trying to make a statement, now these are the ones that are still learning or just not really harajuku. Even Gwen Stefani has not revealed the realities of her back up dancers who she claims are harajuku.

Harajuku is almost cult-like, in fact, there are harajuku cults in Japan where they live, eat, breathe fashion, literally!Lets not get into that. Harajuku girls and boys make over the top runway designs look wearable because they amplify every aspect of what they wear. For example, a bow headband would mean wearing an enormous bow on your head for a harajuku girl.

I find their passion inspiring because they put their heart, soul and time into being a harajuku every single day. I love being a fashionista but seeing myself as an extremist like the typical harajuku girl seems a bit daunting.

There is no individual type of harajuku girl because they're all unique in their own way as they literally wear their personality in a highly obvious manner. However, I do have a general non-exhaustive list of certain types of harajuku girls.

Behold the Harajuku girls!

.

.

.

1) Gothic Lolita

The real deal for goth chicks. They don't necessarily listen to goth music but they make fundamental goths look mediocre. Gothic Lolita take inspiration from vintage victorian fashion.

2) Sweet Lolita

This is sort of common and those who attempt to be like a harajuku girl gets inspiration from this type of harajuku because the style is very much inspired by fairytales and disney films like Cinderella, Rapunzel, Minnie Mouse, Little Red Riding Hood and many more. This style tends to be very child like and pig tails are commonly used to follow this style.

3)Decora

This puts Lady Gaga to shame. Harajuku girls who belong to this category will wear anything and I mean anything from top to bottom. They usually wear plastic toys and more industrial items are coming in season now.

4)Wamano

This is what you can call normal out of all that I have mentioned because this is style is basically a fusion of western fashion with traditional japanese wear, sort of like kimonos with leggings.

5)Punk

Another music influenced style, more or less like the gothic lolita but less feminine. This is accompanied by endless piercings and tattoos to reflect the teen's rebellious attitude. This fashion is inspired by London's punk movement. Fashion globalisation is the way forward!

6)Kawaii

This means "Cute" in Japanese and I must admit that I tend to use this term a lot whenever I find something adorable. This cuteness is taken literally in this form of style because people who belong to this category will dress like their favourite cartoon characters alongside with pastel coloured accessories and carrying around toys with them. Yes they actually carry around teddy bears in full display. This is probably where Lady Gaga got her inspiration from when she decided to carry a teapot around with her wherever she went.

7)Cosplay

These are usually fans of anime cartoons or computer games where they dress up like their favourite character which they develop a strong devotion to.

Well I must say I am intrigued by the fundamental passion for fashion displayed by the youth of Japan but instead of being a follower of the Harajuku clan, I think I may start wearing Harajuku-inspired looks because I have actually fallen in love with these extremists!

I will be updating a post soon on Harajuku inspired looks so instead of going full on Harajuku on yourself, you can opt to wear a tamer and wearable version of it. In fact, this is called "Gyaru" which means "gal" in Japanese but it actually refers to a type of Japanese fashion which I find to be a mellow yet fashionably quirky version of the Kawaii Harajuku girl!

Meet the Gyaru girls!

Yet there are still different types of Gyaru girls which will make this post off-topic so we shall keep that for a different post!
Till then!

Trend: Military

ATTENTION PRIVATE CORPORAL FASHIONISTAS!

Military trend is sadly becoming over rated and will be out in due time. I was just starting to go full on military with the lovely boots and jackets just because I could

but its only when people start to wear it incorrectly that it drifts out of trend.

So while its still hot, lets all embrace it!Saluuute!

Rihanna rocks a Balmain jacket

However, being a true Balmainholic, this is style is something I know I will maintain in my style one way or another because fashion experts would know all this military inspired apparel are all products of inspiration from the dark and edgy Balmain.

Steal: Avon Luxe Lace Gel Eyeliner

This is a life saver! It only cost £2 at the time purchased and I am sure it'll cost this much now as well! Maybe thats why its called Super Shock?Perhaps, perhaps. You will not go back once you get this not so hidden treasure from an Avon catalogue. So if you know of any Avon representative, Get your hands on these(well you can get it online too but we all like free shipping). Why am I raving so much for this supposedly cheaply priced product?

1) It works just as well as MAC's gel eyeliner

2) Does not smudge even on oily skin

3) It is heavily pigmented, so its literally the blackest of blacks

4) It glides on perfectly onto your eyelid with minimal effort
5) Did I mention that it was only £2

I usually tend to invest in quality products that are pricey so this is a change especially when its big in quality yet small in price!
This product has lasted me for like 2 whole months which is good because you're meant to dispose your eyeliner every month anyway! This is literally a beauty saviour of the credit crunch. Its worth the detachment of £2 which I am sure I would have spent on a box of Medium fries from Mcdonalds anyway, now that is bad.

Have you tried this product before?Agree/Disagree with me?Feel free to post your comments!xo
